About the role
Our Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) Regulatory Affairs function spans across the product lifecycle and is responsible for the regulatory strategy relating to the development, manufacture and testing of all of our medicines.

With our expertise we interpret, anticipate and craft global Health Authority expectations to build insightful CMC and Device Regulatory Strategies.

We are the bridge between our R&D functions, Operations sites, Quality and Global Supply Teams in helping safe, effective medicines reach the right patient at the right times. We manage the timely preparation and delivery of CMC contributions to the regulatory submissions linked to medicinal products throughout the product lifecycle; including Clinical Trial Applications (CTAs), Marketing Authorisation Applications (MAAs) and all post approval activities improving the reliability and value of business critical Supply Chain changes to the AZ organization by supplying the regulatory context, intelligence and mentorship for robust approval and change management.

This is an consulting assignment via Adecco and is set to start as soon as possible and is a one (1) year assignment. 

What you’ll do
We are looking for a Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls Regulatory Affairs (CMC RA) Manager to join us in Gärtuna, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to 2 days a week.

Being a CMC RA Manager means that you will effectively manage the production of CMC documentation for designated product ranges to deliver against the needs of both the AZ business and the patients for internally and externally manufactured products. You will project manage global CMC regulatory submissions ensuring that project activities and documentation are delivered to the required standards.

As a CMC RA Manager you will also contribute to and own the regulatory CMC components of business-related projects, applying effective levels of interactive communication with collaborators and project team members to ensure that relevant timelines and regulatory commitments are appropriately communicated. The accountabilities also include responsibility for change management as assigned and to ensure the takeaways from own projects are shared with other co-workers/within the function.

Responsibilities:
Manage/Lead assigned projects; define and agree regulatory submission strategy, coordinate cross-functional preparation of submission content and complete data assessments to ensure the authored regulatory CMC contributions are in line with AstraZeneca and Health Authority requirements throughout product lifecycle stages

Leverage regulatory intelligence to optimise submission content, employing quality risk management as appropriate Maintain regulatory databases related to submissions Capture and communicate Health Authority approval status Continually evolve and develop the organisation’s regulatory expertise; through proactive recording and communication of regulatory insights gained via Health Authority interactions Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate regulatory execution and delivery Contribute to business process optimization activities, removing waste and improving efficiency Apply GxP principles according to the stage of product lifecycle

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Crucial for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific subject area 
- Experience in a biopharmaceutical (or related) manufacturing, technical or regulatory environment 
- Awareness of CMC considerations and how they apply in a regulatory environment 
- Project management expertise with the ability to plan, coordinate sophisticated programs of work and adapt to changing situations to ensure on time delivery 
- Fluency in Swedish and English (written and oral) and partner leadership skills 
- IT Skills

Desirable for the role:
- Detailed understanding of current regulatory CMC requirements and the CMC contributions to clinical and/or commercial regulatory dossiers 
- Knowledge of the drug development and marketing application processes for pharmaceutical products 
- Direct/indirect Regulatory Affairs CMC experience with clinical (IND & IMPD) or marketing application (NDA or BLA) submissions for synthetics and/or biologic and biotechnology derived products 
- Understanding of regulations and guidance governing the manufacture of pharmaceutical products 
- Demonstrated research skills in understanding, interpreting and applying regulations or guidance from external sources; including industry bodies and national competent authorities 
- Lean capabilities 
- Understanding and application of appropriate risk management Proactive in identifying and acting on opportunities to drive operational improvements
- Experience working in Veeva.

The team
The department for production and logistics research (VECR) within production and logistics (P&L) is responsible for leading and supporting Scania in research and external cooperation with universities and research institutes. The group also supports P&L in the industrialization of research results. Your task

• Create and maintain connections to the external research community

Your profile

General knowledge about Scania and Lean (Scania Production System, lean at Scania) focused on production and logistics.
Knowledge in the German language is an advantage.

Within Scania Connectivity at Scania Research & Development, we are looking for you who want to take on the role of a Manager for group Connected Functions.

The group is responsible for map functionality in Scania vehicles, providing solutions for the navigation system and related map software functions such as predictive cruise control. We are also working with V2X, creating the IoT landscape. The connected functions (also including positions, alarms etc) are developed both in the onboard telematics unit and in the Scania cloud setup. The functions we provide are used by customers using both conventional drive trains and electrified vehicles.

Assignments
You will be responsible for the Connected Functions group with the strategic overview of the connected functions strategy together with the technical management as well as creating and maintaining sustainable and productive teams.

Many functions are created in close collaboration with other parts of R&D and also our sales and marketing departments. The group operates in projects with urgent deliveries and more strategic deliveries. Hence you will have a good opportunity to broaden your network and have good visibility within R&D.

You will work closely with your manager colleagues within Connectivity and contribute with your experience to the management team's work such as strategic planning and organization development.

Within the Sustainable Transport Solutions effort, the Autonomous Systems Development section (EAD) leads the work on developing Scania’s on-board software stack for autonomous driving within industrial confined areas. EAD is composed of five groups, each of which focuses on specific technological aspects, from the computational platform and sensor data collection to action planning and actuation. We have a great challenge before us and our section is an important part of Scania’s shift towards sustainable transport solutions! 

Assignment 

Your assignment will be to take the responsibility as first-line manager for the group Autonomy Control Systems. The group is responsible for the computational platform, meaning the high-end control units and software architecture for self-driving vehicles. The technology spans from traditional control units to the front end embedded computers with a performance unlike anything we have put in a truck or a bus before. The work involves close collaboration with SW and sensor developing teams in our department as well as teaming up with suppliers to develop the HW needed for our computational system. Since the systems and architecture for autonomy must be well integrated into our vehicles you will also have a lot of interfaces to colleagues at Scania outside of our department.  

In your position as a first-line manager, you are leading the strategic work for the group. You are responsible for the recruitment, development and coaching of your employees as well as for forming the improvement work within your group. 

You will work closely with the other managers within Autonomous Systems Development. We have a tight collaboration in the management team and together we form the strategies to take on our mission to build the best autonomous systems in the world.

• Protein concentration UV/Vis
• Device testing
• Compendial analysis such as sub-visible particulate, appearance, visible particles

The Analytical Biochemist also

• Works with sample management
• Prepares specimens and samples for analysis
• Writes SOPs and reports
• Keeps up to date with technical developments
• Performs routine tasks accurately and following written procedures to carry out analyses

• Maintains and operates standard laboratory equipment.

Essential Requirements

• Degree level/or equivalent in chemistry/biochemistry or a related discipline.
• Experience in chromatography/electrophoresis.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) / Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment.

Job description

The incumbent is responsible for the Quality management of assigned Quality system and compliance activities for GSQ supply chains and suppliers. They are responsible for all Quality activities that directly support execution of assigned Quality Management System elements. QSMs will be assigned in discussion with their line management, key areas of responsibility, but will be expected to learn other areas of the quality system to help support the rest of the team during times of peak workload or holiday coverage.

This includes, but is not limited to, the Quality System oversight and/or performance of the following activities:

• Product quality complaint, Temperature Excursions or S&L complaint management
• Deviation investigations, quality issue management and escalation
• Product release (Career Level D required)
• Quality system element governance as either BPO or deputy BPO
• Certification reports
• Change control
• SOP management
• Stability Data entry and management
• Supply Chain Assurance (SCA) system administration
• Training System
• Self-Inspection auditing
• Quality Risk Management
• Quality Agreements (establishment and maintenance) between AZ and External Suppliers and between GSQ and AZ Operations Sites

Key Accountabilities

Complaints Management - Coordinate complaints issued for GSQ as a supplying site or coordinating site

• Product Quality Complaints
• Supply and Logistics (support when applicable)
• Product security

Supports GSQ Quality Management Systems

• Manages and maintains quality data and records in relevant quality management support systems (GQCLIMS, SAP and OCM) as required.
• SCA data entry and checks
• Stability Data entry and secondary data checks
• Assists in the production of, or contribution to, AZ quality documentation as GSQ SOPs.
• Manages internal deviations in Track wise deviation system.
• Supports with data for certification reports.

Certification Reports

• Prioritisation of Certification reports to ensure optimal impact at sites
• Adherence to Certification report schedule
• Review of technical data
• Drafting, review and approval of Certification reports
• Upload of Certification Reports and Certification status to SCA

Other

• Facilitates process and system improvements
• Support audits and inspection requests for sites
• Back up and support other team members

In addition to the above Key Accountabilities a Quality Supplier Manager is expected to include in their remit the following:

Product Release - Assigns Usage Decision for Formulated and Packaged products (in accordance with Manufacturing License), Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Starting Materials, Medical Devices, including

• Batch record reviews including working in relevant quality management systems
• Assign Usage Decision for batches affected by Critical deviations, assessed by Senior Quality Supplier Manager or Qualified Persons

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Bachelor degree in a science / technical field such as Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry or Engineering Proven broad experience in either the pharmaceutical operations environment or pharmaceutical Quality Assurance role
• Strong demonstrated knowledge of cGMPs, Quality Systems and the pharmaceutical supply chain environment. Also strong understanding of industry standards such as Pharmacopeia, ISO standards, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish

Specifically required essentials:

• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally and managing significant improvement initiatives (e.g. project management skills)
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong negotiating/influencing skills
• Ability to work independently under his/her own initiative.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required approximately 10% of their time.

Your role

As a Microbiologist you will be a critical key player in performing laboratory tests in accordance cGMP to produce reliable and precise data to support product release and scientific investigations.

Examples of the analytical methods that you will be working with

• Identification of microorganism by a state of the art MALDI-TOF system
• Product release testing of endotoxin analysis using singe use cartridge technology
• Microbial Bio-burden of water using a Rapid Microbiological Method based on solid phase cytometry
• Perform growth promotion tests on microbial growth media
• Cultivate and read Biological Indicators to ensure that disinfectant and sterilisation processes are in place

As a QC Microbiologist you will also be working with

• Write and execute SOPs and reports and keep up to date with technical developments
• Perform data review/approval and data retention activities. Input data for trending purposes
• Perform a variety of non-routine testing including analytical method transfer and validation, experimental/validation work and analytical support to production
• Work with improvements of established processes using LEAN as key philosophy
• Provides support to functional and cross functional investigations when needed

Description of Sweden Biologics

Sweden Biologics Quality Control
At Sweden Biologics Quality control (QC) department is divided in to three functional groups, Bioassay, Biochemistry and Microbiology. Each group consists of approximately 6-8 persons. At the department QC immunologists, QC analytical biochemists, QC microbiologists work alongside QC specialists and QC information system specialists. All staff collaborate closely on general QC responsibilities whilst achieving group specific deliverables.

About the role:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Your main duties will be to work with microbiological laboratory methods and systems, in accordance with the appropriate cGXP, and to support the QC department in order to produce reliable and precise data to support product release. Your responsibilities will also include to work cross functionally within the site organization and the broader AstraZeneca network in order to close daily deliverables and more long-term projects commitments to enable the site to be fully operational.

• You will act as a subject matter expert in the Microbiological discipline, Product testing, including sterility testing, and aseptic aspects
• Provide expert technical knowledge and give support to the broader Quality Control function and to the site
• Be involved in writing, review and approval of SOPs and other relevant GMP and validation documents and reports
• To lead prioritized projects to establish the functionality of this new facility, e.g. the introduction of sterility testing isolators and electronic systems to track and trend environmental sampling results
• Delivering training and coaching to the staff within the group and within the site
• Be instrumental in functional and cross functional investigations
• Respond effectively to technical requests from the Quality Control function using expert knowledge of Quality Control instrumentation and methodology
• Lead problem solving sessions including root cause investigations to minimize down-time and drive efficiency
• Represent QC in GMP inspections
• Lead smaller, local projects

Requirements

• Master´s Degree or equivalent in microbiology or a related discipline
• Language level: Fluent in both writing and speaking Swedish and English
• Extensive experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment / Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
• Good understanding of Quality Control testing techniques, aseptic manufacturing process and validation processes
• Previous Pharmaceutical Industry experience for at least 5 years.

You have expert knowledge and understanding of the functional area and laboratory instrumentation, as well as Good Manufacturing Practice/Good Laboratory Practice.

You will be driving and supporting change management within the QC function, and introduces and embeds new technology/systems into the QC function ensuring that the QC function remains contemporary and competitive. You will lead and Support method validation activities and the analytical technology transfer of QC methodology into and out of Operations, including the design of transfer protocols and strategies.

This position is at a high level of complexity, working on multiple priorities and at multiple levels within and outside the organisation. The role is critical to the organisation as this individual is responsible for QC of the company´s commercial and clinical products.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree level/or equivalent in scientific discipline.
• Technical SME in a QC discipline.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts of compliance management and Good Manufacturing Practice / Good Laboratory Practice.
• Language level: Fluent in both Swedish and English.
