Role Summary
This is an internal recruitment within Scania/Traton Södertälje
We are looking for a people-focused leader who can enable technical experts to succeed. Whilst the current manager is away on a competence development program, you will be appointed as Acting Unit Manager for a Sensor Platform unit, effective from December 1st, 2025 (preferably, but depending on your availability) until March 31st, 2026.

What we do

At Powertrain Component Controls, (ENEC), we develop the control systems for our Traton electrical powertrains and conventional gearboxes. We are looking for a manager responsible for the group “Transmission System SW”. This group consists of 10 engineers with the role of System Owner. The group is responsible for the system ownership of all our transmission systems including the electrical motor systems. Transmission System SW is responsible for making sure we maintain a high quality of our products and coordinates the deliveries from multiple software teams into a complete release as well as acts as an interface towards big parts of the Scania organization for these systems. Some of our systems are also developed together with suppliers and requires a lot of collaboration to achieve the best result.

What is the job?
We call the role EOM; External Operation Manager. A typical day on the job is everything but repetitive, you will have to balance operational tasks and strategic tasks using business development skills, project management skills and purchasing skills. External Operation at Scania R&D is the entry point for successful collaboration with engineering service providers. We are soundboard to the line organization to define and describe their needs. Within HPC Platform SW, we are developing a completely new software platform and common software components for HPC’s such as the Cluster/Infotainment-system and Communicator modules. This will be the foundation within the Traton group (Scania, MAN, Navistar and VW Truck & Bus) for a modern software platform, which enables safer vehicles, and connected vehicles, but also the transformation to electric vehicles. The customer demands increase, both within our current business but also in new areas. With our software platform, we have the basis to develop functionality that meets and exceeds customer demands. We are a new organisation and have therefore divided the previous team into more line function groups.
We are now looking for a line manager for the “DDU HPC Platform SW” group. The group consists of several teams globally and is primarily working on developing platform software in C++ on modern automotive operating systems and application frameworks. Our section is, besides from embedded software development, also responsible for System Architecture, Cyber Security. It is therefore a natural part to be closely involved in these topics and close to the system hardware development. What we do
With a unique position in the industry, Traton and Scania are well-positioned to take the lead in the transition to a sustainable transport system. About the role
Our Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) Regulatory Affairs function spans across the product lifecycle and is responsible for the regulatory strategy relating to the development, manufacture and testing of all of our medicines.

With our expertise we interpret, anticipate and craft global Health Authority expectations to build insightful CMC and Device Regulatory Strategies.

We are the bridge between our R&D functions, Operations sites, Quality and Global Supply Teams in helping safe, effective medicines reach the right patient at the right times. We manage the timely preparation and delivery of CMC contributions to the regulatory submissions linked to medicinal products throughout the product lifecycle; including Clinical Trial Applications (CTAs), Marketing Authorisation Applications (MAAs) and all post approval activities improving the reliability and value of business critical Supply Chain changes to the AZ organization by supplying the regulatory context, intelligence and mentorship for robust approval and change management.

What you’ll do
We are looking for a Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls Regulatory Affairs (CMC RA) Manager to join us in Gärtuna, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to 2 days a week.

Being a CMC RA Manager means that you will effectively manage the production of CMC documentation for designated product ranges to deliver against the needs of both the AZ business and the patients for internally and externally manufactured products. You will project manage global CMC regulatory submissions ensuring that project activities and documentation are delivered to the required standards.

As a CMC RA Manager you will also contribute to and own the regulatory CMC components of business-related projects, applying effective levels of interactive communication with collaborators and project team members to ensure that relevant timelines and regulatory commitments are appropriately communicated. With all brands in the Traton group moving towards a common way of working with product structure in Traton Modular System (TMS) there will be opportunities to co-operate between brands also when it comes to presales preparations and ways of introducing new content to the market. Your profile

The Development of Powertrains at Scania and Traton is moving into a new phase. About the position

For ICD, our team colleagues in India work with creating geo-models and publish ICD drawings for customized ordered trucks and we cooperate, coordinate, and develop the work together with them.
The group's mission is to analyze and follow up on incoming product changes for how they affect the ICD drawings and weight calculations. From those changes, we work with the creation of new or adjusted ICD drawings, input to our weight calculation databases, and support our cross-functions with good quality information needed for certification, bodybuilding, and general development.
The parts and geo-models are created/changed in our internal modular system OAS and our CAD program, Catia, and our weight calculations are updated in our programs WCG/WCP. We also work with inquiries from the market side and operate a helpdesk that is managed every day.

About your group, AI technologies group 
One of our autonomous technology frontier groups will be led by you. Your group designs, implements, optimizes and deploys deep learning models for autonomous driving. The group's scope of work includes the entire workflow from data collection, via model creation and training in the cloud, to deployment in our vehicles. The group keeps up with the latest discoveries in this rapidly evolving field and assesses which ones should be implemented to our product. You are accountable for the output of your group.  

About management team 
You are responsible for a whole software stack for autonomous driving on public roads as a member of our section management team. Our management team consists of both line management and agile management with responsibility for all deliveries in both the line organisation and across the product value flow. 

The management team may be debating our strategic road map one day, reviewing our strategy, and revising it. On the same day, line managers like you consider our staff's career development to determine how we can support their growth while completing tasks as planned. Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.The section “Product Engineering” is responsible for red arrow within the department “Truck Chassis Development”. We continuously update and optimize the truck program produced in our global production. This is done, for example, via assignments within FQ (Field Quality), DOL (Design On-Line) and PCR (Product Change Request). The group ERTEA works with assignments leading the heavier design matters within the chassis area. The current manager of the group is leaving for new challenges. Your work assignments

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.Due to restructuring in the RVL section and an increase in personnel, I´m looking for a new group manager for the geometrical assurance area.

You will lead a diverse team of 10 employees with varying seniority levels. The main task of the team is to assure the modular toolbox (for trucks and busses) in terms of collision-free combinatorics. This is done through continuous work towards verifying new introductions - driving the clash analysis (internal and with external help) and reporting results to the line organization. They work within the test vehicle process creating the digital vehicle representations and ensuring their verification and use all this knowledge to develop their own software, tools and processes to ensure speed and quality in their work.

Sektionen ansvarar för utveckla funktioner som hjälper föraren att föra fordonet från punkt A till punkt B på ett så energi- och tidseffektivt sätt som möjligt. Det är ett område som nu står inför ett stor steg i teknik, arbetssätt och organisation där förmågan att kombinera data från fordonet och molnet, som väder och trafikdata kommer vara avgörande. Så ett spännande och viktigt område för att Scania ska behålla positionen som premium-leverantör inom transportlösningar.

NESY is now temporarily being led by the Section manager for NES, Engine System Management and Test. We are looking for somebody ready to manage and develop this team.

The team consists of 6 engineers who work very close to each other. The team is responsible for the engine management system software architecture and OBD framework. The team is also responsible for the workshop tests and OBD framework calibration.

Within Scania Connectivity at Scania R&D we seek a Manager for the existing group Connected Functions as the current manager is moving to another position at Scania.

The group is responsible for map functionality in Scania vehicles, providing solutions for the navigation system and map-related software functions such as predictive cruise control. We are also working with V2X, creating the IoT landscape. We are looking for a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working. An interest in the customer is important.

To fit the expectations of the role you should have a graduate degree in engineering or equivalent. Experience in leading software development in an industrial setup, in agile system development, connectivity, embedded development and AWS.

You communicate fluently in English, and preferably also in Swedish, or working eagerly to learn the language. 

Knowledge about Scania and Scania´s methods and processes is meritorious.
