Role Summary
We are looking for a talented Process/Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead zero deviation introductions, implement Design for Assembly (DFA) principles, and facilitate the crucial collaboration between production and R&D. Job responsibilities
· Collaborate within the TRATON production network to align product and process development, ensuring consistency and scalability. Work together with engineering, design, and production teams to identify and resolve process-related issues early in development.
· Actively contribute to the development of battery module processes, from concept to serial production. Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and resource utilization.
· Through use of DFA principles, review product and process changes through tolerance analysis and for robust assembly.
· Develop and define process specifications for future product introductions and actively drive towards zero deviation introductions.
· Develop expertise in manufacturing processes. Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and in depth understanding of the product. Develop and modify line layouts, including material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics, utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices

· Experience with Process or Mechanical Engineering, with an understanding of Product and/or Process Development and DFA principles.
· Experience with Process Development within prototyping or serial manufacturing.
· Strategic thinker with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

What Will Help You Stand Out:
· Familiarity with Product Introduction management tools such as P-FMEA, Cycle time and ergonomic assessments.
· Experience with GD&T and Tolerance Analysis is preferred
· Proficiency in CAD – Catia preferred
· Experience in SAFe and agile methodologies is a plus.
· Professional level of spoken and written English is required; proficiency in Swedish is meriting.

Explore and develop your area expertise within testing coupled to current and new technologies coupled to BEV.


Who You Are
To thrive in this role, you should have a master’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or a related field. Experience in mechanical testing or analytical applications of screw joints is a strong advantage, but a keen interest in developing expertise in this area is just as valuable. Familiarity with design work and Scania’s PDM systems is also highly beneficial.
We are looking for someone with strong practical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a sharp eye for detail. You should be comfortable presenting ideas and speaking in public, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swedish—knowledge of German is a plus.

Kravspecifikation
Du har sedan tidigare en civilingenjörsutbildning, gärna inom maskinteknik eller industriell ekonomi. Vi förväntar oss vidare att du har 3-5 års arbetslivserfarenhet av maskininstallation eller liknande arbetsuppgifter i en produktionsmiljö.
Du har ett brinnande teknikintresse och en analytisk förmåga men räds inte att arbeta hands-on och spendera stor del av din tid i produktion. Du kommer kontinuerligt lära dig och utvecklas i din roll och du ser fram emot att ta större ansvar i takt med att du bevisar din kapabilitet.
Komplex problemlösning är något som du drivs av och du löser problemen på ett strukturerat sätt. Du är en jordnära person med god förmåga att kommunicera och inser att laget är starkare än jaget.
Som person är du driven och orädd samt har ett intresse av personlig utveckling. Du är flytande i både svenska och engelska, i tal och skrift.

Om rollen
Som logistikutvecklare ser vi dig som en väldigt viktig spelare i vårt team av logistik och planeringsutvecklare där du driver större strategiska initiativ och frågor i linje med DX strategiska plan.
Du kommer att jobba med att öka transparensen och visualisera samt analysera DX end-to-end flöden för olika produktgrupper. Detta för att möjliggöra att vi jobbar med rätt frågor och inte sub-optimerar våra flöden. Detta är en nyckel för att ta nästa steg i utvecklingen av logistiks verksamhet och där kommer du in.
Vidare ser vi dig jobba med att utmana och förbättra nuvarande logistikprocesser däribland hur vi jobbar inom material och produktionsplanering.
Du har ett intresse för digitala verktyg såsom Power BI där du kan bygga verktyg för att visualisera olika logistiska flöden och mätetal som kan användas i kommunikation med vår ledning och för att följa vår verksamhet i realtid.

Materials technology at Scania Research and Development develops material knowledge to enable the shift towards a sustainable transport system. The group for powertrain materials focuses on forged and heat-treated steels, cast metals, and tribology.
Within the TRATON group, R&D will be consolidated from all four brands (Scania, MAN, Navistar, VW truck, and bus) to the group level during the coming year.

Your role

Your main focus will be to pursue the PhD education and research. With an industrial perspective deepen the knowledge within the field of aluminium corrosion and its mechanisms. The main driver is to enable more recycled aluminum alloys. You will be in close contact with the university and perform some of the work in their facilities, and other advanced facilities in Europe. For a minor part, you will work as a development engineer to perform some of the group’s assignments.

Your assignment
As a FEM Simulation Engineer within our team, you will work with a variety of physical phenomena and component systems of the electrified powertrain where method development is needed to understand new solutions and their associated failure modes. Your assignment will include performing FE-based strength and durability simulations on our electrified propulsion system as well as conventional drivetrains. The role also requires you to be part of the method development and process automation tasks in the group. Formalizing simulation models with physical test results and finding capability is an important aspect of the job.

Working with designers to achieve the best possible design for a future product.
Understanding new phenomena, and developing a way to formalize the calculations, together with our test engineers and/or data scientists in the department.
Calibrate your model and assumptions through rig testing, vehicle testing, or load data from the field.
Automate simulations and make them user-friendly.

Battery Production
The battery project consists of the series production of battery packs and VCB cabling as well as existing prototype production. It is a state-of-the-art production facility and one of the few within Europe to mass-produce battery modules for electric vehicles. Job description – your mission
You will work as an End of Line Engineer in the Battery Module team who is responsible for planning, coordinating, and carrying out activities for new product launches, process changes, product changes, and quality improvements for End of Line equipment of the Battery Module line (High Volume Series Production). Your primary goal will be to ensure the quality and reliability of battery modules before they are delivered to customers. You will play a critical role in the production process by conducting comprehensive end-of-line tests to verify the performance, functionality, and safety of the battery modules.
Work tasks – your responsibilities
The main responsibility in this role is to conduct the end-of-line tests on Battery Modules. You will need to collaborate with R&D to develop test plans and procedures. Another important work task is to define and procure the required test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems so that we can execute the tests effectively.
Examples of other responsibilities are;
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution.
Ensure smooth running of Production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and technicians, to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or failures identified during the testing process.

Who we are looking for – your profile
Since the person in this role will collaborate a lot with other functions, we are searching for a person who is very communicative, both in speech and in writing. The group Acoustics Complete Vehicle consists currently of seven test engineers, two technical managers, three mechanics, and one Ph.D. and you would be the project coordinator to keep track of all project deliveries and support the group with project information. The group is involved in developing the trucks of the future regarding sound, both externally and internally in the cab. We are responsible for the vehicle's acoustic properties and support design groups and development projects with testing and analyses from measurements. Your role
You will work as a Global Process Engineer either for the battery pack, VCB or module being the main contact between designers and the value adding process.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and carrying out activities for new products, process changes, product changes and quality improvements. It includes developing, identify and suggest the best manufacturing method and that the conditions exist to be able to manufacture the products at the right quality, time and cost. In addition, putting requirements for equipment as well as on the product and the drawings.
You will work with everything from Product Development Interaction, Production Requirements, Design for Assembly, Risk Analysis P-FMEA, Process Verification (PPAP) and understand the production processes of battery products and also contribute within the Product Development Process in a cross functional setup with R&D, Production, Logistics and Purchasing and cross brand with our TRATON colleagues.

In Battery Production we are currently installing high volume series production of battery packs, modules, two prototype lines for batteries and a line for the production of VCB cables. In Battery Production, we are setting up three new production lines. We are in the middle of a phase where we train and build competence to manufacture battery packs and cable harnesses for tomorrow's products in e-mobility. The products and production structure are completely new and we, together with our colleagues, are currently starting up production of a product that will be critical for Scania's fulfillment of the CO2 goals.

I therefore need to strengthen my team in Product Development process with a new Project Manager that can help us in production industrialize the new products that are being developed.

Your tasks

As a PD Project Manager, you work primarily with Product Development projects where you work cross-functionality with R&D, Purchasing, After Market and internally within Battery Production to secure the introduction of the project into our operations.

This will include responsibilities such as: Break-down and follow-up on ME Product Development process deliveries from all departments in ME (Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Production, Quality, etc.) as well distribute project information to all the departments.

Be a first escalation level in the cross-functional work and support and coach the ME organization in how to solve the deviations that will appear in the Product Development process.

Represent ME in the relevant VCT and EMP forums.

Is this you?

We are looking for you who engineering degree or have completed Scania's technician training and preferably have worked at least 3 years in a role where you have come into contact daily with Scania´s Product Development Process. We work in an international environment and the working language is English. Fluency in spoken and written English is thus a basic requirement and Swedish is a merit.

Job description – your mission
As an End-of-Line Test Engineer for Batteries, your primary goal will be to ensure the quality and reliability of batteries packs and modules before they are delivered to customers. You will play a critical role in the production process by conducting comprehensive end-of-line tests to verify the performance, functionality, and safety of the batteries.

Work tasks – your responsibilities

The main responsibility in this role is to conduct the end-of-line tests on battery packs and modules. You will need to collaborate with R&D to develop test plans and procedures. Another important work task is to define and procure the required test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems so that we can execute the tests effectively.

Examples of other responsibilities are;


• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution – Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including design engineers and technicians, to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or failures identified during the testing process.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures through working closely with the quality team and R&D.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of test procedures, results, and any modifications made to the testing process.
• Collect and analyze test data using various tools and software systems. Evaluate the results against defined specifications and standards to identify any deviations or anomalies.

Who we are looking for – your profile

Since the person in this role will collaborate a lot with other functions, we are searching for a person who is very communicative, both in speech and in writing. We communicate mainly in English, so excellent skills in English is required, and if you speak Swedish it is a plus.

You need to pay attention to details and you have strong analytical skills. Problem solving and finding solutions is something you regard as nice challenges.

Education


• Higher technical education (BSc/MSc) preferably Electrical engineering or a related field

Team Powertrain and Battery installation consists of 6 design engineers, 2 sub-project leaders, and one group manager. We are responsible for designing the structural hardware for the propulsion batteries installation. We also design the suspension for both ICE and BEV powertrains. About the assignments

We are looking for two Business IT Analysts, one for the team Technical Documentation and one for the team Common Services.

The Technical Documentation team is working with the documentation that describes the product in addition to the drawings. Examples of technical documentation are Product Certificates and Technical Product Data. The Technical Documents are created and sent for review and approval in the system by the users in their organizations.

Fuel system development is part of engine development organisation at Scania R&D. Fuel system development department is responsible for development of fuel system hardware and component integration. Our strength is keep at a vast knowledge concerning specific components forming the fuel system for combustion engines at Scania. Fuel system uses that knowledge to optimize fuel system components together with different combustion engine platforms from 420  to 770 hp power rating.    

Our group, is responsible for injector development for all Scania diesel combustion engines. Responsibility is keep for new development/development programs, validation, testing and calibration. Injection system plays an important role to achieve a high effectiveness on the engine and our work implicate a wide cooperation within engine development both on hardware and software development side and outside with joint efforts with injector suppliers.

As performance engineer on the team you will be responsible for integration and calibration of the fuel injector for all on-going development projects targeting injector performance. Your work assignments will vary on a day to day basis, but can be summarized in the bullets below;


• Plan and evaluate, together with designer on the team, calibration and validation of injector performance in our local injectors rigs and test engines.
• Perform analysis of test or field data and work actively to resolve any performance or product deviations
• Work together object leader to plan project and milestone deliveries
• Work together with supplier to ensure performance and calibration meets requirement specification
• Work cross-functionally within R&D and engine production to contribute with deep technical competence on injector technology.

Your Profile

About the assignment

We are looking for a flow initiative owner/project manager to the coordination team to be able to deliver methods and CAD/vPDM solutions for our users within the different brands in the Traton group.

You will coordinate the deliveries needed within our and other organizations/brands within the Traton group.

It is important to understand the big picture and the business demands, clarify the deliveries needed from our value flow, and together with the development teams translate it into activities. You will work closely with the people in business, our own, and other value-creation teams.  

Your profile

To make a match for this assignment you need to have good communication skills, in Swedish and English, have analytic ability as well as good project manager skills. It is valuable to have a helpful and proactive mindset, an ability to see the big picture, and also to understand the different mechanism that creates the full solution for the users. • Monitoring legal requirements:
You will work through Scania’s distributors and participate in lobbying activities.
• Analysing legal requirements:
Together with product development and other functions, you will provide valuable input to ensure that Scania’s power units are developed to meet existing and future legal requirements.
• Certification of power units:
You will provide guidance and deliver interpretations to development engineers to allow them test engines, e-motors or batteries, including the creation of technical documentation. Towards the end of the certification process, the application for certification is formalized by compiling Scania’s applications for certificates. For certification, you will be Scania’s contact towards e.g. US EPA/CARB as well as marine classification societies like DNV GL.
• Market support:
To ensure compliance during the production life of the product, you will ensure the validity of certificates. You will support Scania’s distributors in their national approval processes.

Our business

In Battery Production, we set up three new production lines. We are in the middle of a phase where we train and build competence to manufacture battery packs and cable harnesses for tomorrow's products in e-mobility. The products and production structure are completely new and we, together with our colleagues, are currently starting up production of a product that will be critical for Scania's fulfilment of the CO2 goals. We are in a shift in our ERP-system, from MONA to SAP and with two almost fully automated production lines, EBBA, who is our MES-system, becomes a very important keystone in our production. 

I therefore need to strengthen my team in production technology with engineers who want to be involved in the start and be part of the creation of this production!

I, the recruiting manager Linus, am a generalist with extensive experience in production, both in manufacturing and assembly. Since my employees are the experts, my focus is on delegating and building a team with a positive culture and inclusion where we can take help from each other. Our Team

Our Advanced Engineering team at Scania battery production is a new unit and are still forming. Recruitment is ongoing and we strive to get the best engineers out there. We will consist of specialists in different areas, which includes Tool designer, Automation engineers, data analyst, IT specialist e.g. and a few more roles.

Your tasks

You will conceive, develop, design and implement tooling and procedures, in a team environment, for the cost of efficient manufacture of custom and proprietary products while collaborating with the production team and also other departments.

Responsibility

As a Tool Designer, you are responsible for the design of new tools as well as making improvements to already existing ones. You are responsible for drafting schematics and blueprints and determining tool specifications as well as carrying out calculations to establish tools cost, materials and dimensions.

You will get to be involved in starting up a completely new production with a completely new structure and a completely newly formed working group. In your role, you will be a part of the local structural preparation regarding our tools and tooling systems. You will need to understand how all the systems work together in order to participate in cross-functional team focused on solving deviations.

In the new production environment, we will also introduce new communication tools, which creates great opportunities for traceability, analyses and quality assurance.

Is this you?

We are looking for you who have an engineering degree or have completed Scania's technician training and preferably have worked at least 2 years in a role where you have come into contact with product development systems and have experience with CE documentation. We work in an international environment and the working language is English. Fluency in spoken and written English is thus a basic requirement and Swedish is a merit.

As a person, you are analytical, structured and have an ability to see connections. To succeed in this assignment, we believe that you have worked with similar systems before and are flexible as everyday life can be unpredictable. We also see that you are solution-focused and want to find best practice for developing the organization and are a team player because we need to have a good collaboration with our colleagues.

About us

Our powertrain control systems are key to the function, performance, and environmental impact of our products. The Engine System Regulations group is responsible for requirements setting and central functionality for diagnostics and fault management within the control systems for engines and after-treatment. This involves ensuring that the systems comply with the legal requirements for diagnostics and that our systems are simple to troubleshoot in the service organization. The field of diagnostics, including OBD (On Board Diagnostics), consists of several functions and systems and we participate in all engine projects, regardless of whether they relate to diesel, renewable fuels, or hybridization.

With an increase in the number of internal customers from the Traton group, expansion within existing markets, and the challenge of certifying our products in the USA, the need has arisen for a coordinated and driven individual to join our team.  As Competence group leader for OBD, you will coordinate the groups deliveries, and collaborate cross-functionally with our customers.

 

Your role


• For OBD you will coordinate and follow up on other groups’ diagnostic deliveries, see that relevant information is produced and that OBD certifications can be performed both at Scania Technical Centre and in other locations around the world.
• Lead the cross-functional expert group for diagnostics and certification together with engineers responsible for the powertrain control system, testing, and product conformity.
• Be a natural contact with our customers, internal and external, in the area of OBD development and certification-related activities.
• Lead the group scrum-planning.
• A natural part of the work will be to continuously improve tools and processes for issue management, requirements, and specifications.

 

You will work closely with colleagues within the group, which will also allow you to broaden/deepen your skills within our various career paths. The group is characterized by cohesion, diversity, and enormous enthusiasm for development both professionally and as individuals.

 

Your profile


• A degree in engineering or equivalent documented education/experience in embedded systems, certification, and/or leadership.
• In your work you are organized, quality-conscious, and shoulder responsibility easily. As a colleague, you are positive with good communication skills. As a leader, you can engage with people in plans and change management.
• It is advantageous to have the knowledge and/or prior experience in engine technology, diagnostics, Lean development, legal requirements, OBD standards, certification, issue management, or project management.
• You can express yourself both verbally and in writing in English. The ability to speak Swedish or the willingness to learn is advantageous.
