Role Description
Contribute to the development and validation of advanced automotive systems in a safety-critical environment. You will plan and execute structured test analysis and test design, ensure full requirements traceability, and deliver defined work packages on time.
Responsibilities

Prepare test data, environments, and instrumentation for road, rig, and lab testing.
Document outcomes and provide concise status reporting and risk escalation.

Requirements
Expertise in at least two of the following:
Application of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and/or SOTIF (ISO 21448).
Hands-on testing of functional safety requirements.
Test case development for vehicle and simulation-based testing.
Strong understanding of vehicle driving behavior and traffic rules.
Ability to work full-time and deliver to fixed milestones.
Clear written and verbal communication in English.

Meriting
Experience with SIL/HIL/MIL test environments.
Familiarity with requirements and test management tools (e.g., Polarion, DOORS, Jama, or similar).
Knowledge of CAN/LIN/Ethernet bus analysis and log-based validation.
Exposure to ADAS/AD features and scenario-based testing.

You will develop advanced functions for energy optimization, such as smart cruise controllers and related functionality. Som Functional Safety Engineer får du en viktig roll i att forma hur vi arbetar med funktionell säkerhet i våra system. Du kommer att vara med och leda säkerhetsarbetet inom både förarstödssystem och kontrollsystem för autonom körning – med fokus på både längd- och sidledsstyrning. Scania’s Special Vehicles division is dedicated to developing customized transport solutions for Defense and Civilian applications. Role Summary
The Software Update Management System (SUMS) Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all software updates comply with relevant regulations and standards. This role involves planning and maintaining the required certification activities, communicating with technical services and type approval authorities, and ensuring the integrity and safety of the vehicle's software throughout its lifecycle.

One important factor for this to succeed is to have clear structures, processes, and information management in place. The transformation within Embedded means that the present way of working needs to be challenged and updated. Today legal requirements in this area are also increasing, for example, SUMS (Software Update Management system) and CSMS (Cyber Security Management System). Besides, the Methods will be aligned with ISO 26262 standard.
We currently need to further develop new embedded methods like TARA, HARA, Planning Functional safety, mapping ISO 26262, IVD, RxSWIN etc.

Job Responsibilities
Certification Planning and Execution: Plan and execute certification activities for software updates, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact with technical services and type approval authorities, facilitating clear and effective communication.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all certification activities, including software versions, integrity validation data, and relevant hardware components.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including UN Regulation R156 and other applicable standards.

Who You Are
To succeed in this role as Certification Engineer for Software Update Management System (SUMS) you have some of the following:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: have a Software development background preferably in embedded systems or a technical background, a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in software certification, automotive engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge: understanding of software update management systems, type approval processes, and relevant regulations (e.g., UN Regulation R156).
Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in relevant software tools.

Our group is involved from concept development to realization, including testing and verification of brake systems in the vehicle. Our responsibilities cover functions that play a significant role in safety, stability, driveability, and brake performance. The team members have deep knowledge and experience within the brake system and consist of both engineers and mechanics.

Your role
As a Function Developer within brake systems and functions, you will together with a team of experienced colleagues develop, test, and validate brake functionality on trucks and buses within the Traton group. This also involves defining requirements, programming, testing in vehicle and rig as well as making safety analyses.


Contact with external suppliers is common and cooperation cross-functional within Traton takes place on daily basis.

Your profile

You have a Master's or Bachelor's degree and probably a few years of work experience within a relevant field. Join our Engine After-treatment Control team

The group Engine After-treatment Control software, responsible for the functionality of our catalysts and particulate filters, is now looking to add another function developer to the team. Our work includes control and diagnostics of the exhaust after-treatment system in all of Traton’s powertrains and engine projects.

Your work assignments

You will be responsible for functionalities related to after-treatment components which you together with your supporting colleagues are going to follow up on and ensure that Traton has the best product possible. Every day you will meet new challenges and you will early on get to influence, both your daily work and long-term projects. You will be able to develop functionality in your area, while also helping other groups with their problems. You will be part of the whole development cycle, from concept development to legacy support.

We work mainly with development in C and some model-based development using code generation through Simulink. An important part of the work is to develop analysis methods and models for the systems which we have responsibility for. We also test our functionality in bench as well as in vehicle.

Your qualifications

* You have experience working with the calibration of engines, catalysts, or particulate filters in engine test cells.
* You have experience and knowledge in software development. Coding in C and MATLAB/Simulink, as well as software testing, is an advantage.

About our product
The Coordinator (COO) system is the central control unit in Scanias trucks & buses, deployed in each produced vehicle.
The COO reads and terminates the inputs from the driver such as the ignition key, buttons and pedals, as well as some other direct inputs and sensors connected, to create and distribute real-time signals and states to some consumers on vehicle level. COO also hosts real-time applications for several functions, such as sensor fusion, Advanced Emergency Braking and many ADAS- functions.
Additionally, the COO terminates the external diagnostics-interface of the vehicle (the OBD connector) and safeguards some legacy ECUs from direct external diagnostics access.

The position
We are now looking to strengthen our team with a system developer. In this role, you would work tightly with your colleagues, in all the phases of the software development. The Software factory at Scania, including embedded development, is undergoing a large transformation right now, becoming more flow-oriented with the goal to be faster and with better quality! Your role

Your mission here with us
The team your joining are responsible for developing and maintaining tools that is used to configure and reading diagnostic information from the electrical system of our products. Part of this is to think about how we arrange the code so the architecture can be built on for future demands. The tools are primarily used within the product development process and are an important part for us to have a streamlined product development.
Work with and/or get in touch with tools and techniques such as .NET Framework, .NET Core, AWS, Visual Studio, Git, GitLab, Jira, CI/CD, Unit test frameworks, Diagnostics protocols like UDS, H-UDS, networking technologies such as CAN, Ethernet and much more.


Who you are:
You have a technical university degree and proven experience in Software development. You are an experienced software engineer (minimum 5 years). Of course you love writing effective code with quality that help our users to get their job done, but also code that are maintainable over time. You have experience or a strong interest in software architecture. You have good communication skills for all cross functional collaboration needs. You are fluent in English, if you have knowledge in Swedish it is an advantage. As a person you are analytic but like to get things done.
You also:
Have very good knowledge in C#, C++, .NET or from similar languages like Java.
Have very good knowledge in WPF or WinUI or other Desktop Application development techniques.
Have good knowledge of Cloud environments, preferably AWS.
Have good knowledge of Front-end frameworks as React, Angular or similar.

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
About us
Quality information is a team within the Field Quality organization that provide statistical tools and analysis needed to describe the quality situation in the field which for example is used to be able to start new FQ-items.
We are handling our data and have now started our cloud journey and are currently moving all our data from physical servers to the cloud, which is a part of Scania's “cloud first” strategy. We collect data from a lot of different data sources, for example, information about our produced vehicles, warranty information, fault-codes, workshop work orders and operational data. We compile this information in PowerBI reports or in another tool called SAS Viya/Product Analytics.
Our team consists of 3 analysts and 3 data engineers in Södertälje and 2 analysts in Sao Paolo. Since the only data scientist in the team is moving to another position for a while, we are looking for someone to replace him temporarily until the end of 2024.
Your responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for advanced analysis, data models and reports containing data about our customer vehicles operational data, fault codes, repair history, software updates for example. We believe that there are great benefits within machine learning in this area and you will have the possibility to explore this. You will be a part of a team with different competencies and responsibilities that have the same goal, to help our customers make data driven decisions.
Your profile
We believe that you have a degree in engineering, computer science or similar and that you have excellent analytical skills and like to help others. The job will also include a lot of -coding and report building in either PowerBI or SAS Viya/Product Analytics. Experience in these platforms is a merit. As a data scientist in our team, you also need to be communicative, as you will be in regular contact with both the business side and Scania IT.
As a person, you are driven and well-structured. You thrive working, both in teams and individually, in a dynamic world where agile and conventional development methods coexist. You have excellent problem-solving skills and are curious about the automotive industry.
