Traton is transforming how we deliver digital workshop solutions across multiple brands. As part of this journey, we are strengthening the architecture team behind the Workshop Suite — a cloud-based, microservice-oriented platform supporting vehicle diagnostics, configuration, and service operations globally.
We are now looking for a hands-on System Architect to help realise and maintain the system design across multiple development teams and technical domains. You will work closely with our other System Architect, guiding architectural direction and ensuring that the Workshop Suite evolves in a scalable, efficient, and maintainable way.

Who You Are
We are looking for someone with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, and several years of hands-on work as a software or cloud infrastructure developer, preferably within AWS. You have experience designing and building distributed systems, and you are skilled at explaining complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of Swedish is a plus. You are a collaborative and structured professional who thrives in complex environments where multiple teams work closely together.

We at Vehicle Service Information (EYS) are passionate about Uptime and Serviceability. We enable our workshops to be best in class in supporting our customers when they come in for a workshop visit.
Daily, 16,000 Technicians maintain, troubleshoot and repair Scania vehicles and engines worldwide.
To make sure our workshops can deliver world class services, we develop the tool suite SWS, Scania Workshop Suite. It’s a microservice based cloud solution with a web frontend. Your Assignment
The development team consists of around 12 cross functional sub teams with a DevOps approach. As a System architect you will be the bridge between the teams and the enterprise and solution architects.
You will be the chairman for the architecture community of practice and make sure that the services developed are possible to maintain and deliver the right performance. As the solution consists of multiple micro services, it’s important that the architecture and standardization make them work together. You act as a coach for the teams when they implement, but also work pre-emptive to make sure our architecture vision and technology align with the business goals.

We’re looking to employ an experienced architect for our CRM system at Scania. The system, based on MS Dynamics 365 CE, is a global product with users across the world. The main responsibilities of the team you will join are technical implementations, development, maintenance, and support.

As part of the CI/CD toolchain, our section is responsible for supplying HIL/SIL test platforms for the SW developers/testers out in the organization. Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Our team sits at the heart of the embedded control-system development at Scania. We provide the middleware that is the interface between hundreds of software components, connecting them with each other and the low-level platform software. This middleware is used by various powertrain control systems, such as the engine, gear box, and battery management.

Being part of an international multi-brand cooperation such as Traton means that software sharing and integration is strategically important. Here, our group is a key player when it comes to designing systems that allow seamless sharing of software components without sacrificing our flexibility. 



Your tasks

You will be part of the architecture team. The team is responsible for the development of the middleware used in several systems. The architecture description defines all software components, data objects, and interfaces. Python scripts generate the code that implements this architecture. You will be continuously improving this toolchain. At the same time, you will set the road map for future bigger releases. We are currently planning a major update which will be developed over the next 1-2 years. The focus will be improved modularization and ease of use for the developers. We have regular workshops where we define the requirements and discuss the implementation of the system.

We are also involved in the development of the engine management. Here, we lead the software architects of the function development groups and together we define the architecture of the engine management. This work acts as a major input to the development of the middleware. 



Your profile

You have at least 3 years’ experience as a software architect, or you are a senior developer who wants to take the next step in their career. You should have the following skills:


• Development of embedded systems in C
• Object-oriented scripting (e.g. Python or Java)

In the Product Cybersecurity group we enable Scania to offer products and services with the required cybersecurity. Together we analyse the needs and make sure that the architecture provides a secure foundation for the sustainable transportation, electrification and autonomous vehicle solutions of the future.  Understanding future needs and the risk landscape is part of our work but we also dive in to the technical details of software, hardware and protocols.

Your duties
As a cybersecurity architect, you will help create future security solutions by developing system design and selecting technical solutions. We offer cross-functional work where you, along with experts from the entire development organisation, find sustainable and balanced solutions. Together with the rest of our team you will also be involved in developing Scania’s cybersecurity concepts. To facilitate this, you will be part of all project phases, from research to early concept development right through to production launch. Working with cybersecurity architecture also involves ensuring the entire life cycle, e.g. service market and incident management.


Your profile
You probably have a BSc, MSc in engineering or similar knowledge gained from work experience. You have a number of years professional experience from cybersecurity during which you have gained an amount of integrity in your professional role. You are passionate about the topic and find it easy to cooperate. You are motivated by responsibility and enjoy solving problems. You are fluent in both written and spoken Swedish and English.

Scania genomgår nu en transformation från att vara en leverantör av lastbilar, bussar och motorer till en leverantör av kompletta och hållbara transportlösningar.

Vi söker en lösnings-/verksamhetsarkitekt som tillsammans med arkitektteamet på gruppen ska ha fokus på Scanias produktindivider (lastbilar, bussar och motorer) och mjukvaruuppdatering av dessa.


Så länge det kompletta fordonet (produktindividen) är i bruk, förvaltar vi dess digitala tvilling samt möjliggör produktanpassningar. Visionen är att ha "1 till 1"-förhållande mellan kundens produktindivid och Scanias digitala produktindivid. Samtidigt har vi nollvision vad gäller kvalitetsbrister på den data som vi äger och förvaltar.

Att kunna göra förändringar på fordonen i vår rullande flotta är en starkt växande affär för Scania och just nu är vi inne i en spännande fas då funktionalitet flyttar till molnbaserad microservicearkitektur. Samtidigt ska vi ta fram stöd för att skicka mjukvaruuppdateringar via luften från fabrik till ett fordon som inte är på en verkstad.


Vi jobbar utifrån att våra produkter ska vara flödesorienterade, så att mekanikern får känslan av att jobba i en produkt och kan röra sig fritt mellan olika tjänster och funktioner.

System som det nya arkitektteamet ska ansvara för är bl.a. Conversion, SPII, CHIN och PIS.

Arbetsuppgifter


• Leverera artefakter exempelvis  processkartor, scenariodiagram, systemkartor, begreppsmodeller, informationsmodeller, flödesdiagram, sekvensdiagram  som behövs för stöd i utvecklingsarbetet.
• Samla in krav och behov från de många system som våra system integrerar med. Analysera hur förändringar i våra system påverkar dem, och vice versa.
• Facilitera och driva fram lösningar som bygger på kända eller nya mönster som möter och balanserar kraven för produkten.
• Samverka med andra arkitekter (systemarkitekter, lösningsarkitekter etc.) för att få samsyn och jobba mot samma mål.
• Hålla dig uppdaterad på det senaste inom programvaruutveckling, både inom och utanför Scania.
• Agera som rådgivare och stötta ledningen med sakkunnighet och underlag i process och systemfrågor.

Har du den här bakgrunden?


• Relevant högskoleutbildning och har erfarenhet av systemutveckling inom exempelvis web, micro services eller IoT.
• Du har skaffat dig relevanta kunskaper, både teoretiskt och färdigheter via erfarenhet, för att vidareutvecklas som systemarkitekt med övergripande ansvar.
• Erfarenhet av design och utveckling av distribuerade lösningar. Samt att du har vana och erfarenhet av att ta fram, dokumentera och kommunicera lösningar.
• Meriterande är erfarenheter kring SESAMM och OAS.

The Functional Systems Architecture group is responsible for the overall electrical function systems architecture in Scania’s vehicles. We meet future needs with a clever system design and scalable architecture solutions. Your Role

As a Systems architect you are a technical leader that involve our ~1000 embedded engineers and ensure that our innovations fit together creating the best possible total solution for our customers.

You influence our organisation by maintaining the modular product library and modelling our electrical systems and its communication.

You also keep track of current trends in the industry and participate in early product development projects to align the work between different areas.

You work closely with the entire group and can leverage the competence of the entire section Systems Architecture with deep knowledge of Safety, Hardware, Security and Diagnosis in our sister groups.

Your profile

You have a college or university degree in engineering and experience from systems development. You are a highly motivated and prestige less person. You have the ability to drive new ideas as well as teams. You know how to take complex problems and explain/describe them so that more people can understand. Previous experience within systems development are meriting. You take responsibility and are fluent in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
