We offer being part of this important transformation, you would join Group Legal Affairs, a global team of highly skilled colleagues who take pride in providing legal counselling throughout the group. You will dedicate most of your time to Scania’s Ventures & New Business, our department for venture capital investments, mergers & acquisitions, as well as Scania’s portfolio of companies with innovative business ideas and models, adjacent to Scania’s core business. You will also work closely with colleagues within Group Legal and Compliance and other stakeholders in Scania’s global organisation, as well as within the TRATON Group.
Job responsibilities
As a Legal Counsel at Scania, you'll have a tangible impact on the success of the business. You will provide legal expertise and guidance to the Scania Group and face a wide variety of exciting tasks including:
Support existing Scania companies in all legal and contractual matters and commercial agreements, including purchasing, distribution or customer agreements
Pro-actively supporting Scania Venture & New Business and participating in their projects by advising on legal and strategic issues.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and reporting obligations.
Development of strategies to mitigate significant legal risks and balance legal protections while aligning with business objectives.
Manage multiple transactions simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, and tax, during transactions.
Providing significant expertise and experience in corporate law matters, including company formation, management, governance, and compliance.
Advising on general M&A, JVs, venture capital and other investment structuring, as well as in due diligence, corporate negotiation, and corporate contract negotiation.
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating corporate contracts, term sheets, shareholders agreements, and other necessary documentation for portfolio company management.
Conducting a thorough and professional legal due diligence process with a commercially reasonable risk profile.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including antitrust laws, securities regulations, and industry-specific regulations.
Working closely with international counsel to understand and articulate local adaptations, requirements and regulations.

Your profile
The person we are looking for has a university degree within law, with 5-10 years of relevant experience from a law firm or big multinational company. You have a strong interest in law from a commercial perspective and from a corporate position. You have a demonstrated track record of managing and executing complex transactions, including investments, acquisitions, and divestitures.
You will also have a good commercial grounding, with the ability to align legal strategies with business goals, understanding the commercial implications of legal decisions.
We believe you are a curious and unprestigious team player, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and collaborators. You are stable, determined and resilient, easily adapting to change with an interest in technology. Being self-driven and service minded are fundamental so you are proactive in thinking and acting. Leadership experience is a plus.
You have good skills in both Swedish and English; any other language skills are also warmly welcome.

Legal Counsel Scania Procurement
Scania is currently looking for a new Legal Counsel to provide legal support to the procurement function. The procurement department at Scania is tasked with acquiring products and services for all of Scania’s global units, with the central procurement operations based in Södertälje. While the majority of our organization is located there, we also have a significant presence in various countries where Scania operates. In this role, you will work in a truly international setting, primarily based at Scania’s headquarters in Södertälje. You will be an integral part of our legal department, which comprises six legal counsels, two assistants and the general counsel.

As Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in offering legal advice and conducting risk assessments for the procurement function. This entails offering support in diverse legal domains pertinent to a procurement organization, primarily centered around commercial contract law and general commercial law. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training sessions for purchasers. The role involves numerous points of contact worldwide and is both independent, varied and socially engaging.
Is it you we are looking for?
You have a Swedish law degree and/or have acquired relevant work experience in Sweden.
You possess 3-5 years of relevant work experience either from a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel.
You have a solid understanding of commercial contract law and general commercial law.
Familiarity and experience within the legal domains of IP law, IT-law, maritime and transport law, construction law or other relevant are desirable, but not a requirement.
Working languages are Swedish and English. Proficiency in German is advantageous.

This role will give the right candidate the possibility to influence and further develop the Group Compliance organisation and work cross functionally in an international environment by taking own initiatives and at the same time respect Scania’s well-established values and corporate culture.

The Group Compliance Function is part of the Scania Group Governance, Risk, Compliance and Data Protection function and directly reporting to the CEO and President of the Scania Group. The Group Compliance function is supporting the global Scania organization in reducing compliance risks by providing knowledge in terms of policies, guidelines, trainings and advice and by setting up respective structures and processes within the area of anti-corruption, AML and competition law.

To the growing Group Compliance function, we are now looking for multiple positions, including a Regional Compliance Officer for Scania Europe North covering Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Great Britain (United Kingdom) and Baltics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). The position will be based in one of the countries within the Scania Europe North region and will require travel. The Regional Compliance Officer will report to the Head of Group Compliance and with a close coordination with the Executive Regional Director Europe North – and working with the Business Unit management teams in the region.

Your main responsibilities:


• proactively contribute to the implementation and improvement of the Scania Group Compliance Program and map and coordinate local legal requirements
• management and minimization of risks in the focus areas of anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and antitrust/competition law
• support and develop a culture of compliance and integrity
• communicate and advise on compliance topics
• identify, manage and support solving compliance challenges and risks
• develop and deliver compliance trainings
• conduct compliance risk assessments
• conduct and support third party due diligence
• integrate compliance into the business processes (day-to-day operations, strategic business decision and personnel processes)
• work closely together with the management functions of the respective units

Your profile:


• experience in legal or compliance-related topics in international law firms and/or international companies
• strong analytical skills regarding compliance as well as business issues and a proactive approach combined with good follow-up skills
