Welcome to the Quality Information team within the SCANIA Brand Identity Development Field Quality organization! We're on a mission to provide top-notch statistical and analytical support for decisions and analysis that describe the quality situation in the field. Our team is transitioning from physical servers to the cloud as part of Scania's "cloud first" strategy, using Azure and Snowflake. We gather data from various sources, including vehicle production, warranty information, fault codes, workshop work orders, and operational data. We visualize this information using Power BI and Product Analytics. We are now expanding the team with one data engineer to be able to finalize our cloud journey and secure and improve our daily data flows.
Job Responsibilities
· Move and improve our databases from on prem to Azure cloud environment.
· Create data models related to our customer vehicles. This includes operational data, fault codes, failures, repair history, and software updates.
· Prepare our data for the exciting world of machine learning to uncover new insights and benefits in our data.
· Work closely with a team of analysts and data engineers in Södertälje and Brazil, all striving towards the same goal – helping our customers make data-driven decisions.
· Actively participate in management team meetings and be responsible for yearly planning, coordination, and follow-ups.
Who You Are

Quality Information is a team within the SCANIA Brand Identity Development Field Quality organization that provides statistical support for decisions and analysis needed to describe the quality situation in the field. Our team is currently moving all our data to the cloud as part of Scania's "cloud first" strategy, using Azure and Snowflake. Our team consists of three analysts and three data engineers in Södertälje and 3 analysts and one data engineer in Brazil. We are now expanding our team in SLA with one data engineer and. We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team.

What you will do

As a Data Scientist in the agile team you will be part of a data analytics group right in the centre of electrification within Scania and TRATON, empowering the organisation with insights, dashboards and troubleshooting – all based on rolling vehicle data collection that your team maintains, develops and quality assures, using technologies in the vehicles as well as in the Cloud.
The role also includes building of data products which incorporates multi-faceted tasks, both technical development as well as collecting needs from stakeholders, plan and define problems, investigating data sources available and collecting feedback.

About you


We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
You should have proficiency in modern programming languages like Python, experience with data analytics and data preparation, and familiarity with for database querying.


Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for data storage and processing is also important.

Other skills, such as knowledge in CI/CD pipeline process, version control systems, data visualization tools or experience from the automotive industry is meriting.
Strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on troubleshooting mindset, and excellent communication abilities for presenting data-driven insights to diverse audiences are essential.

Desired Qualificaitons
4+ years of experience with DW development and support
2+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS/Snowflake
Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, data access, and data storage
Advanced knowledge and experience working with relational databases
Working experience with both low-code and high-code environments for ETL
Knowledge of PowerBI, Tabular Editor, and other BI/DW tools is meriting
Basic understanding of git branching, and the ability to push and pull code to and from a git repository
Strong English language skills

The group’s mission is to collect logging data from our global test vehicle fleet and make the data easily accessible for the global Traton R&D organisation. The outcome is a data-driven development loop as we test our future vehicles in real operations around the globe.

Your role

In the position of development engineer within team belt transmission and AC compressor you will be responsible for development of Scania/TRATON´s future components that the team is responsible for.
You will lead the collaboration work within Scania and together with suppliers to develop state of art component for our future applications.
Our work is carried out in a structured way by following our milestones and development process
Examples of tasks:
* Responsible for AC compressor integration, setting requirements and assuring the quality of complete product development.
* Develop brackets for the components.

Qualifications

One amazing cross functional team (IT and engineering) of 13 persons in the Smart Factory. We are now looking for a test developer with interest and experience in process and methodology improvements, and who would like to take part in the journey to secure the latest vehicles within the Scania fleet from now and into the future.

Our group at Scania is working with complete vehicle integration tests for the Scania electrical system, both in trucks and buses, where the mindset of looking at the whole product and understanding the customers need is key to success. We, Complete Vehicle Integration Test in SIL/HIL (EPSI) perform tests and from an integration point of view verifies complete bus and truck electrical systems. The results are the foundation for approval decisions for continuous testing within Scanias internal driving tests, external field tests, and part of giving recommendations for product approval. The group consists of 8 committed and analytically highly skilled persons with a wide interest in testing and technique, working together to secure that the Scania embedded electrical system is safe and of the highest quality for Scanias customers. 

We perform integration tests for both new and existing functionality and we continuously work with improving our methods for existing and future functionality, such as autonomous and electrified vehicles.

This position offers a variety of work activities and you will be given both an in-depth and a wide understanding of the Scanias electrical system. 

Your tasks

As a test developer, you are part of our team which develops, designs, and performs tests in our environments, analyses the results, writes requirements on test environments, improves work methods, and provides support for development teams and decision-makers in discussions around upcoming faults. Our main test environments are Hardware In the Loop (HIL), Software In the Loop (SIL), vehicles, and combinations of them. Testcases are sometimes manual, but normally automatic and written in Python.

On top of being part of the execution and analysis of tests, you will in this position focus on improving our tools, methods, and processes according to the latest state of art from science. That means both implementations in tools and research on current state of the art of available methods. You have the possibility to mix theoretical and practical skills by means of evaluation and follow-up of methods and tools in real integration testing of HW/SW in different environments.

Your profile

You have 5-10 years of work experience with a university education in either computer science, electronics, mechatronics, or similar work experience from test or development of embedded systems. It's meritorious with research experience from the field of testing, as well as ISTQB Advance certifications or similar.

We in the team are responsible for the implementation of business logic for driver notifications, icons, menu pages, settings, and other driver display functionality. We gather and translate requirements to code. We take pride in writing efficient code and encourage creative solutions while, striving for automation.

Since we do high-level development of functionality that is directly affecting our drivers we also work close to the physical product. Your role

As a System Developer of the GNSS/IMU You are responsible for the development and integration of such systems (GNSS/IMU or IMU alone) into our autonomous vehicles. Calibration and data analysis is also part of your tasks with the very important long-term goal to automate the calibration and validation as much as possible. The responsibility involves both the hardware and software where you will work in close collaboration with other teams, typical tasks are:


• Supplier contact

Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research at Scania is responsible for developing, testing, and piloting future frontier autonomous driving concepts. 

Background? 
Accurate and robust localization is an essential ability of a robot to safely navigate within its environment. Existing methods to achieve this task are global positioning systems, inertial navigation systems, lidar-based algorithms, and vision-based methods, among others.  

Learn to localize 
Even though state estimation is a solid and well-studied field, when applied for vehicle localization, there are many aspects where learning approaches can help in complementing and improving its performance. Especially, for the localization aspects that are harder to model or that require extensive parameter tuning. Among others, they can include improving over hand-crafted features, data association methods, uncertainty modeling, multimodal feature selection, sensor failure prediction and recovery from failures. 

The goal of this project is to investigate the interplay between task-based learning approaches and probabilistic state estimation to achieve robust and accurate vehicle localization.  

To achieve these objectives, the industrial Ph.D. student will pursue multi-disciplinary research in the areas of state estimation, deep learning, optimization, and sensing technologies. This work will be performed in collaboration with Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research at Scania and the division of Robotics, Perception, and Learning at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. John Folkesson (academic supervisor) and Dr. Rafael Valencia (industrial supervisor). 

Your profile? 
To apply, you should have a Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in robotics, computer vision, machine learning, computer science, applied mathematics, engineering physics, electrical engineering, or in a related technical science or engineering subject. We welcome applicants that are currently completing their master thesis project. 

The successful candidate has solid mathematical knowledge and proven programming skills. Autonomous vehicle development at Scania is advancing at a very high pace and self-driving trucks and buses on public roads will soon see the light of day. Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research at Scania is responsible for developing, testing and piloting future autonomous concepts. Your work as a Product Owner will be leading an agile team, which is responsible for the complete process from requirement handling to production and maintenance.

 

Your work assignment 
Your task is to lead developers to build the platform to be able to connect and transform data from Scania’s autonomous vehicle and other data sources. The highest goal is to interact with stakeholders and aid them in the self-service data driven journey.

You will design powerful data pipelines that process fast sensor streams, leverage appropriate data stores, and o?er easy-to-use APIs as well as develop and deploy high-quality software using modern tooling and frameworks.  This is a great opportunity to participate in developing the new logging solution which must meet the upcoming demands from Big data handling and Machine Learning.

Your responsibilities

As a research engineer in the Maps and Localization team for Autonomous Transport Solution (ATS) Research you will be responsible to research, develop, and evaluate sensor-based localization and mapping algorithms for autonomous driving prototypes. What you will do

You will work cross functionally to grow the CI/CD platform capabilities on our products. Advocating for working in tighter integration loops while continuously prioritising activities for scaling and extending the support for embedded CI/CD on top of our connectivity platform.

This research project will lie under the supervision of the Maps and Localization team, we are responsible for Maps for Highly autonomous driving and Localization of autonomous vehicles. Your responsibilities 
The key idea of the project is to embed robust state estimation at the center of the learning process for feature detection and fusion. This project provides the possibility to pursue first principles thinking approach, beginning with raw sensor measurements and designing a self-evolving system around it that can formulate interconnections between sensors in a data-driven manner, while ensuring that failure modes of a single modality do not degrade overall state estimation. Particularly, you will: 


• Look into sensor fusion as a task-based learning problem 
• Explore representation learning for efficient feature detection algorithms 
• Research different learning paradigms for state estimation such as reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning   
• Investigate different sensor modalities such as lidars, cameras, imaging radars and establish methods to handle sensor degradations

Background

Autonomous driving is a game-changer in the transportation industry, with huge potential to improve road safety. Scania plans to focus on novel technical solutions that boost the safety, robustness, and scalability of autonomous vehicles in order to thrive in this dynamic environment. A critical requirement for safe autonomous driving is Situational Awareness. This requires access to complete and highly accurate information regarding the surrounding environment. HD maps provide large-scale context information without being degraded by the real-time perception constraints. However, this dependency necessitates continuous validation and update of HD maps, since they may otherwise represent wrong information due to road changes or inaccurate map creation.

At the current time, there is no established theoretical and technological framework that enables detecting and updating the changes of HD map features automatically.

Project Description

You will be developing novel theoretical concepts and evaluating these in practice on an experimental testbed. The goal of this project is the automatic and offline change detection and map update of road features in the HD map. The changes of the road features are identified using different sensor pipelines such as lidar and camera. The information received from various feature detectors and local change detection algorithms, and a-priori information about feature distribution are all fused together to take a decision on valid changes in the HD map. Special geometric structures, such as parallel lanes, that are commonly found on city streets and highways have innate implicit geometric properties. The suggested map changes should also provide such geometric consistency.

To achieve these objectives, the industrial Ph.D. student will pursue a multi-disciplinary research in the areas of state estimation, optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence and probabilistic modeling.

This research project will be conducted in an agile multi-cultural research team within R&D. The team is responsible for concept evaluation and software development of maps and localization for autonomous driving.

The results of this research project will be implemented in Scania’s development environment for autonomous driving and they will be experimentally evaluated in operating prototype vehicles (trucks and buses) equipped with sensors and a platform set up for autonomous driving.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced cloud developer and an embedded developer. In one of these two positions we also need a person who is eager to take the scrum master role in our team. We hope you are interested in joining our DevOps team.


What you will do

You will be a part of a team that works in development projects within map and position-based solutions. You will take part in ensuring that our solutions have the right robustness, performance and scalability to support Scania’s customers to be truly digital. Our functions support use cases such as in-vehicle navigation, intelligent speed assist, zone management and autonomous vehicles. 

We work with a DevOps responsibility and we take pride in providing services with high quality to our users. For the scrum master role, you would be leading the team as well as being a senior developer in the team.

You will work in a well-established team with both junior and senior developers. We work according to SAFe and you will be a part of the team that ensures the whole department’s delivery.


Who you are

You are a team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the team. Since we are both building cloud and embedded applications within the team you should be a curious person, willing to take on development tasks outside your primary expertise. Diversity is important at Scania and our team, therefore it is important for you to easily communicate in English

For the position as cloud developer: You are a senior developer (at least 5 years) with AWS cloud experience (at least 2 years). In your career, you have worked with Python, AWS Lambda, Dynamo DB and Kinesis or similar technologies. Other tools you are familiar with might be Gitlab (runners, CI/CD) and Jira.

For the position as embedded developer: You have worked with C++. Experience in embedded development is a strong merit. Experience in automotive business and technologies like CAN, Adaptive autosar is also a strong merit.

For the role as scrum master: Besides your developer expertise you have an interest of leading teams. You take joy in seeing the team succeed and have an interest for group dynamics. Either you are an experienced team leader, or you are a developer who wants to take a new step in your career.

Our team 

We are a small but growing team working closely with our end-users within Scania. We work in a high-paced environment delivering solutions to different stakeholders with a variety of functions and responsibilities within Research and Development. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining applications for designing and visualizing the vehicle's electrical system. The applications are written in C# .Net. The team is currently working in a modern workflow both remotely and in the office.

 

What you will do

We are currently looking for an independent developer, that enjoys going quickly from idea to deployed solution, and with experience designing software products, mainly in .Net.  As a person, you are a true team player and enjoy collaborating in an agile way of working. You are unpretentious and transparent with your work and are happy to share your knowledge with your colleagues.


• Actively participate in software product development end-to-end: coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, support and user feedback.
• Continuously share your experience with the rest of the team and help the team reach its full potential.
• Deliver testable, maintainable and high-quality code.
• Develop complete software solutions from backend to frontend, you don’t need to be an expert in all fields but knowing of the full stack.

 

Your profile:


• A university education, preferably within computer science, or equivalent experience
• Backend: we believe you have strong coding skills preferably in C#
• Frontend: Most of our applications are developed in WPF (MVVM)
• We believe you are experienced in CI/CD, Git
• You are passionate about and have an ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
• We think you may have experience working with databases and Entity Framework
• Has an innovative mindset and would like to make a difference
