About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Manager - Sanctions & Export Controls with expertise on Sanctions and Export Controls with leadership skills and the ability to partner with other parts of the business to advice and guide on Sanctions and Export Control. You will play a critical role in develop and continuously improve AstraZeneca's Sanctions and Export Controls Programme to ensure that activities in the business are compliant. This role will report into VP for Non Commercial Compliance in Global Compliance.



The key responsibilities of the role include and are not limited to:

* Advising the business on the constant and relentless change and evolution of Sanctions and Export Controls rules and regulations.
* Perform Export Control Classification of products and items
* Prepare and Submit License Applications
* Support the business on contractual wording for Sanctions & Export Controls
* Assess Sanctions Screening results
* Prepare training materials and train the business on Sanctions and Export Controls
* Review and update relevant Global standards and policies related to Sanctions and Export Controls
* Support and Lead parts of the automation strategies (for example projects like new export control classification tool, tool to manage export incidents etc.)
* Represent the Sanctions & Export Controls workgroup in various forums and partner with different business units across AstraZeneca group

Essential Skills/Experience:

* Bachelor's degree
* A substantial understanding of Sanctions and Export Controls and their application internationally
* Export Control Classification experience
* The role involves business partnering and interaction with other departments of the business (e.g. R&D, Operations, Finance, Marketing) and a good understanding of the business is desirable
* Project Management capability
* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple countries and cultures
* Strong capability of clear and impactful communication

Your responsibilities will include:

* Responsibility for managing the Swedish direct tax return processes together with a 3rd party service provider (co-sourcing model), including tax technical judgements as required. Review of tax return workings to ensure that material risks are identified and addressed.
* Responsibility for tax accounting and the quarterly reporting of the Swedish units under IFRS as well as Swedish GAAP, incl. ensuring that the Sarbanes-Oxley processes are complied with.
* Liaising with various tax and accounting departments within Sweden, UK and the US to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information required for the tax computations and tax return work.
* Responsibility for Swedish cash tax management and forecasting.
* Tax audit and tax litigation support including preparation of responses to Tax Authority queries.
* Review of international as well as domestic tax law and regulation for the purpose to provide tax advice and to assess how legislative developments impact the Swedish reporting units.
* Support to Global Business partners and other parts of Global Finance on material tax issues.
* Line manager responsibilities for two team members.



Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Qualified accountant or tax lawyer (University Law or Economic degree, Chartered Accountant or equivalent) with at least 6 years of relevant financial experience in a corporate or professional environment. They may also hold specific tax or business qualifications (e.g. LL.M, MBA).
* Strong understanding of Swedish GAAP and IFRS tax accounting together with disclosure requirements. SAP experience is a merit.
* Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organised manner meeting deadlines.
* Proven track record of delivery and execution.
* Experience from successfully leading people, either in a line manager or project manager position.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English.
* Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to utilize IT effectively

This is a multifaceted role with focus business partnering, tax data quality improvements and review VAT accounting reconciliations. You will lead the compliance work for our Swedish entity together with our 3rd party service provider and provide support and updates to the business within the area of indirect tax.

We are in the beginning of an exciting journey of upgrading our SAP system to S/4HANA which will have a huge impact on the VAT reporting.

* Secure technical guidance is provided to stakeholders on business activities, procedures and systems specifically on indirect tax compliance, reporting and documentation
* Identify areas for process improvement/ harmonization/savings.
* Identify and escalate issues of risks and compliance failings.
* Supervise tax authority audits/ correspondence.

Essential for the role:

We believe that you are a qualified indirect tax professional with several years of experience in Indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions in Europe and with excellent knowledge from providing indirect tax advice in a large MNE environment.

* Holds a degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience
* Five or more years of experience in a multinational corporate or professional environment
* Proven record of managing and supervising VAT compliance activities in multiple jurisdictions
* SAP and accounting experiences are a merit

You will report to the Sweden Tax Director and be operationally responsible for all aspects of the Swedish compliance processes with regard to direct taxes. * Responsibility for managing the Swedish direct tax return processes together with a 3rd party service provider (co-sourcing model), including tax technical judgements as required. Review of tax return workings to ensure that material risks are identified and addressed.
* Responsibility for tax accounting and the quarterly reporting of the Swedish units under IFRS as well as Swedish GAAP, incl. ensuring that the Sarbanes-Oxley processes are complied with.
* Liaise with various tax and accounting departments within Sweden, UK and the US to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information required for the tax computations and tax return work.
* Responsibility for Swedish cash tax management and forecasting.
* Tax audit and tax litigation support including preparation of responses to Tax Authority queries.
* Review of international as well as domestic tax law and regulation for the purpose to provide tax advice and to assess how legislative developments impact the Swedish reporting units.
* Support to Global Business partners and other parts of Global Finance on material tax issues.
* Line manager responsibilities for two team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Qualified accountant or tax lawyer (University Law or Economic degree, Chartered Accountant or equivalent) with at least 6 years of relevant financial experience in a corporate or professional environment. They may also hold specific tax or business qualifications (e.g. LL.M, MBA).
* Strong understanding of Swedish GAAP and IFRS tax accounting together with disclosure requirements. SAP experience is a merit.
* Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organised manner meeting deadlines.
* Proven track record of delivery and execution.
* Experience from successfully leading people, either in a line manager or project manager position.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English.
* Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to utilize IT effectively
* As a person you are positive, driven, responsible, structured and have a strong ability to work independently, while being a team player.

What you will do:

This is a multifaceted role with focus business partnering, tax data quality improvements and review VAT accounting reconciliations. You will lead the compliance work for our Swedish entity together with our 3rd party service provider and provide support and updates to the business within the area of indirect tax.

We are in the beginning of an exciting journey of upgrading our SAP system to S/4HANA which will have a huge impact on the VAT reporting.

* Secure technical guidance is provided to stakeholders on business activities, procedures and systems specifically on indirect tax compliance, reporting and documentation
* Identify areas for process improvement/ harmonization/savings.
* Identify and escalate issues of risks and compliance failings.
* Supervise tax authority audits/ correspondence.

Essential for the role:

We believe that you are a qualified indirect tax professional with several years of experience in Indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions in Europe and with excellent knowledge from providing indirect tax advice in a large MNE environment.

* Holds a degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience
* Five or more years of experience in a multinational corporate or professional environment
* Proven record of managing and supervising VAT compliance activities in multiple jurisdictions
* SAP and accounting experiences are a merit
* Demonstrated ability to handle and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organized manner according to deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English
* Possesses strong analytical skills and ability to use IT optimally

Välkommen att söka en spännande och utvecklande roll som utredare inom Osund konkurrens.
Du utreder främst företag som är verksamma inom en miljö där det finns risk för osund konkurrens på grund av olika former av skatteundandragande. Utredningarna avser flera olika skatteslag och vi utreder oredovisade löner och inkomster, granskar företagets redovisning och analyserar bokförings och räkenskapsmaterial. I utredningarna kan det förekomma inslag av internationella skatte- och avgiftsfrågor. Utredningarna genomförs som revisioner eller skrivbordsutredningar och bedrivs i samarbete med andra utredare i arbetsgruppen

Besök hos företag sker i samband med revisioner samt kontrollbesök. Kontrollbesök innebär att vi
besöker företag inom vissa miljöer och branscher för att kontrollera att de följer de systemåtgärder som finns som t.ex. att lagen om kassaregister och personalliggare följs. Arbetsuppgifterna är både omväxlande och utvecklande då våra miljöer och branscher varierar över tid. Du planerar din egen arbetsdag och driver dina ärenden både självständigt och i samverkan med andra. Du arbetar nära dina kollegor och ni ger och får stöd av varandra. Arbetet är kvalificerat och du lär dig och får nya kunskaper både på bredden och på djupet.
