About the Assignment
You will join a next-generation intranet program within Strategy & Communications, focused on creating a modern, personalized, and scalable digital workplace. The initiative will unify an existing intranet landscape into one coherent experience that supports global alignment while enabling strong local relevance.
The assignment is in a critical phase where a future-proof information architecture needs to be defined, addressing complexity across global vs. local content, role-based personalization, and consolidation of duplicated structures. You will act as a senior UX/IA authority, bringing clarity, scalability, and long-term sustainability to the intranet foundation.
Job DescriptionDefine and document the global backbone information architecture, including top navigation, content domains, and structural principles
Design a scalable model for site/factory hubs as a key personalization dimension
Develop a role-based personalization framework aligned with defined use cases (e.g., white-collar, blue-collar, managers, content editors)
Establish principles for separation between global and local content
Develop taxonomy and metadata models to support filtering, targeting, and governance
Create mappings from current intranet structures to the future-state information architecture
Facilitate information architecture workshops with global and local stakeholders across multiple markets
Document, visualize, and communicate IA decisions clearly to both business and IT audiences
Translate IA principles into navigation blueprints and sitemaps
Create low-fidelity wireframes and structural flows to validate IA decisions where needed
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Technical Architects to ensure platform feasibility
Support definition of content governance and ownership models
Ensure personalization logic (role + site/factory) is reflected in UX patterns
Drive discussions on consolidation, simplification, and long-term maintainability
RequirementsSenior experience (8–10+ years) in UX with a strong focus on Information Architecture in large enterprise environments
Proven experience designing intranet or digital workplace information architecture for organizations with 20,000+ employees
Experience working in global organizations with local business units or factories
Experience designing personalization frameworks (role-based and/or location-based)
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops in complex organizational landscapes
Strong documentation and visualization skills (e.g., sitemaps, flows, IA blueprints)
Experience collaborating closely with business, UX, and IT stakeholders
Fluent in English
Nice to haveSwedish language skills
Experience working with Staffbase or similar intranet platforms
Experience from manufacturing or industrial environments
Experience consolidating multiple intranet platforms into a single architecture

We are looking for a Strategic Design Director within our department IXI – Corporate Digital Experience. The ideal candidate is a lead expert role who works closely with our strategists, UX- and UI-designers and other creatives in setting the holistic direction for a premium digital Scania experience, by running strategic initiatives across departments, Scania and TRATON – in the intersection of Digital Experience, Branding and Digital Product Development. As a Strategic Design Director you are a confident and articulate spokesperson who can lead, excite and engage teams and departments. A Strategic Design Director is also involved in strategic planning, partnership development, stakeholder events and communication.

Responsibilities
Lead and develop digital experience standards and initiatives from a design
and brand perspective.
Ensure a consistent and premium holistic Scania experience.
Maintain high standards and ensure exceptional craft among other designers.
Identify and research potential partners and collaborations. In Scania, in TRATON, in the Volkswagen Group and outside of it.
Identify, start and run strategic initiatives that directly or indirectly improves the premium experience of Scania.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with IXI’s stakeholders.
Collaborate with stakeholders and departments in Scania and TRATON, such as KY, R&D, Communication, Brand Management or IT, to identify opportunities or solutions that will improve the overall digital Scania experience.
Report on the progress and outcomes of the goals and objectives of strategic initiatives.
Support IXI management team in strategic planning and execution.

Your work assignments

As a designer, you are an important part of the development and quality assurance of our electrified drivelines. You will have the opportunity to join a design team with very experienced designers where you will influence and take responsibility for the entire transmission. Your main responsibility will lie in the design of the electric machines. The work as a designer on the group provides a unique overall responsibility and where you have the opportunity to gain an understanding of how our electrified vehicles are used by the end customer. The work enables contact with several cross-functional functions within the company, such as with other design groups, testing, market, purchasing and production. The work also involves contact with our colleagues at MAN, Navistar and externa suppliers around the globe.

Your Profile

We are looking for you with a positive attitude, self-drive, structured way of working and a great sense of responsibility. You are technically inclined with a sense of dimensioning and optimization. Experience from design, strength simulation, manufacturing methods and advanced CAD modeling are required. You have an M Sc. in mechanical or design engineering or electronic mechanics and/or probably at least 2-3 years of experience in design work. Its meritrous if you have interest in electrification of moters. You need to be fluent in English in speech and writing. Swedish is not mandatory for this role.

You are a team player and a good facilitator, but also comfortable working independently. You are great at visualizing insights from various studies and analyses in customer flows and user journeys, fluent in English and located in Sweden.
